Don’t Aspire To Become A Blogger, Aim To Influence

September 7, 2017

Deciding to launch a blog is a big deal. It’s not something you can often take lightly. Because blogging takes work. It really does.
Running your own blog can be testing and tough, but entirely brilliant if you’re willing to put in the work.
Everyone has their own reasons for why they first start; I know I do. But they’ll all be different. Whether you want to get a side hustle going to bring in some cash, talk about your passion as a hobby, or even write – just because, it can be something you’ve dreamt about doing for awhile.
But before you start out on your path to become a blogger. Don’t.
Don’t aim to be a blogger. Instead, aspire to influence your readers.
Educate
The way you choose to influence your readers can come in a full array of forms. But rather than just wanting to write, you need to invoke something in your readers.
One of the first things you could aim for is to educate them. If you want your readers to feel like they’re able to take something away from anything you say, education is key.
You want to raise some intrigue in them, and you can do that with a post that teaches them something.
There has to be a purpose for every post that you publish. Sometimes that’s bound to be some kind of creative collection of thoughts, but if you aim to educate with your content, you’re still on track.
Inspire
Sometimes, you may not have any teachings of your own, and that’s okay. Not every blogger will be an expert. Sometimes I don’t even think I am.
But what you can do is inspire your readers with what you have to say. Even your design can do it.
So make sure your website development company gets the look up to scratch. You should be able to inspire your readers via the design and content combined. Giving them food for thought with the result.
Entertain
When you’re in a more lighthearted mood, or you just want to go with a topic that makes you smile, aim for entertainment.
To entertain is to give something special to your readers.
At times, you want to be able to capture your reader's' attention, and entertainment can certainly do that. So play around with your writing style, and shake up your formats. Just for a bit of fun.
Inform
Then there’s also the classic concept of wanting to inform your readers of something in particular. You may find that post series’ work incredibly well for this.
When you want to produce high-quality content, it has to be informative. You need to be telling your readers a story that will impact them.
Informative takes are traditional. Boring to some, but they always work when aiming to build up a readership.
Encourage
When you want to influence your readers the most, aim to encourage them.
You’ll often find that people read your posts for motivation and direction, and encouragement is a huge part of that.
So use information and inspiration, particularly, to encourage your readers to do something. Like I am with this post.
