5 Types Of Marketing Event To Try

November 12, 2019

Marketing events are an exciting way to promote your product or service. They’re a physical and interactive way of connecting to people, which could help you to build leads. Of course, there are many different types of marketing event. Here are just five different types of marketing event to try.

Launch parties

Launch parties are an opportunity to celebrate the launch of a new product or the opening of a new business. By inviting key influential people such as other local business owners, journalists and community figures, you can help to build up a buzz for your brand. These events shouldn’t be too promotional – the emphasis is on making them fun and memorable. Try to choose a fun venue and consider booking entertainment. Incentives such as free/discounted food and drinks will encourage people to come.

Sales conferences

Sales conferences are popular ways to help sell large-ticket items. When making these big purchases, buyers often want reassurance – a sales conference is a chance to give buyers reassurance by offering facts, answering questions and giving demos. You can use sites like Hire Space to find somewhere to host your conference. Some companies will even hire specialist spokespeople to help organise these events and sell their product.

Trade fairs

Trade fairs are events in which multiple companies all come together to promote themselves. Each company has a stall or a booth and they must each compete to attract customers. Most trade fairs are centred around a specific niche (such as fitness or real estate) so you’re guaranteed to be marketing to your target audience. You’ll likely want to use a company such as Focal Exhibitions to design and build a visually enticing exhibition stand. Other incentives such as hosting competitions or offering exclusive discounts can also help to attract people to your stall and make the event a success.

Seminars/workshop

Seminars and workshops are chances to share your knowledge and expertise with people. While the primary purpose of these events is to educate people, they can also serve as promotional events by raising awareness of your brand and improving your credibility as an expert in your field. Seminars tend to be talks, while workshops are more interactive. A new generation of seminars called webinars have also been born, in which you can broadcast a live presentation to people online. You can even charge people for taking part in your seminar/workshop making it both a marketing event and an opportunity to earn some extra money.

Sponsored events

Sponsored events are events in which you offer funding in exchange for being able to display branded signage at the event. This could be an event in which you are the sole sponsor or you could be one of many sponsors. A few examples of events that are commonly sponsored by companies include concerts, sports games, motorsports events, fetes and festivals. They’re a great way of building brand awareness and you may not have to get too involved unlike other forms of event marketing.
