3 Key Factors For Your Startup Business

September 12, 2019

You have had the idea, you have the skills to make it happen and you are passionate about doing so. If this is you and your startup business, then you can be reassured that you are already most of the way there. The drive and determination that you have will see you go a long way and it goes without saying that you will have carried out your research and done your homework. Today we want to share with you 3 key factors for your startup business that you may not have considered, to help you to stay focused and on track.

Enjoy your work environment

Few people think about this, yet it is absolutely critical that you enjoy your work environment.

Our surroundings can have an effect on our mood and therefore our productivity. We are likely to enjoy going to work far more if the conditions that we work in are conducive to getting things done and make us smile. Yes, it does seem obvious, and yet this is rarely prioritised.

If you work alone, you often have choices about where, when and how to work. Listen to music if it makes you smile, light candles, have pets nearby, take regular breaks or work with a beautiful view. If your work is portable, work out of a coffee house or with a friend if you prefer that atmosphere.

When you are creating a work environment for a team, the best thing you can do is ask them for their input. What colours would they like, how would they like the furniture to be arranged and have they any ideas to make it a more welcoming space? You will be putting together a work environment that everyone is happy to come to daily.

Once you have worked out the aesthetics, cover the basics and ensure that it is always clean and well stocked, using companies such as Premier Hygiene, and ensure that refreshments are available throughout the day.

Carry a notebook

Paper or digital, carry a notebook at all times.

Aside from the fact that ideas can assail you at any unsuspecting moment and you might want to capture them, this will help you to take on feedback from others.

People appreciate being asked for their opinion. So ask and ask frequently. Ask your team pointed questions, ask your clients for specific feedback and ask friends and family for their thoughts and ideas.

Actively seek to write in your notebook by challenging yourself to search out one tip, one improvement or one fresh idea daily.

Believe in yourself

You are likely to have some wobbles as you get your business off the ground. It is perfectly natural and to be expected, but when it does happen you are going to need to give yourself something of a pep talk.

You need to deal with any self-limiting beliefs and practically address any challenges that arise. Feel free to enlist the help of trusted friends and colleagues in order to do this as there will always be solutions.

In order for your business to succeed you need to have these systems in place to help you to push through every wobble that you have. If you continue to believe in yourself, you will be confident in moving forward.
