3 Website Mistakes That Are Holding Your Business Back

November 12, 2018

You want to be able to generate the maximum income possible for yourself using passive means. But way too many small businesses are failing to take advantage of the opportunities they have to sell, particularly their websites.
Websites are slow. They lack character. Nothing interesting is going on visually. There’s too much text. They have poor navigation. The list goes on and on.
A poor website does nothing for your business and can even harm it, whereas a good site can dramatically boost your earnings and help you get the lifestyle you deserve. Remember, you’re trying to escape the endless cycle of work and poverty.
So what common website mistakes are holding your business back?
Relying On Free Website Builders
Recruitment website design is a complicated business. Not only does the website have to look good, but it also has to perform complicated tasks, such as queue potential applicants, sensibly order them, update job listings live, and integrate with social media. All of these functions are difficult, if not impossible, using a free website builder.
Website builders can work if you run a simple business. But as soon as you want to do something a little more complicated, like take customer orders or use AI, then free builders stop serving a purpose. Professionally-designed websites aren’t free, but they’ll provide a strong ROI in the long term.
Failing To Get Customer Information
You need to communicate with your customers. It’s the bread and butter of your business. But if you don’t have a way of capturing their details, you’re stuck.
So what can you do?
One of the biggest mistakes businesses make is not providing a compelling reason for their customers to submit their details. When customers get to your site, they want to exchange their information for stuff, even if it’s just a free newsletter or access to a trial period of your product. Once you’ve got their details, you can market more effectively, rather than using broad brush PPC.
Making Important Information Hard To Fine
What turns you off when you go to a business website? One big problem is not being able to find relevant information. Prices, menus and costs should all be prominently displayed so that customers can make a decision there and then whether to continue interacting with your business. If for some reason this information can’t be given up front, then make contact details readily available so that customers can find out more.
Broken Pages
Broken pages are a bad idea. Not only are they distracting and unprofessional, but they can also hurt your SEO.
Having somebody manage your website for you is probably the best way to keep these problems at bay. Website engineers will scan your site for pages that don’t work and either fix or remove them, depending on whether they’re still relevant. Don’t forget, you can often end up with dead pages if you pull content or even swap out photos.
Hopefully, after reading this, your site will no longer be holding you back.
