6 Tips For Moving To A New Business Premises

February 15, 2019

If you’re thinking about moving into a new office, there are lots of things you need to consider beforehand. Whether you’re moving to accommodate a bigger team or you want to move closer to the city, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and forget something important. Taking the time to think about everything you need to do before the big move is a great way to prepare yourself for any potential issues.
With that in mind, here are 6 tips for moving to new business premises:
Work Out Your Budget Beforehand
If you haven’t already, try and put together a budget that covers absolutely all of your moving costs. Whether it’s hiring a team to help you, the costs incurred from closing your business for a number of days, the price to hire out a storage unit for your things or the cost of packing materials – working this out in advance will help you save as much money as you possibly can during the move. Don’t forget to plan a contingency fund, as you never know what could happen.
Consider Hiring Contractors
If you don’t think you’ll be able to carry out a successful office move between the team, consider hiring out a removal team to help you. They’re experienced at removing heavy items and getting things done in a timely fashion. Although expensive, it’s a great way to ensure everything is done without any issues.
Plan Well In Advance
If you know it’s going to be a lot of hard work to move to new premises, make sure you’re planning every single detail in well in advance. There are so many different aspects to consider that having a solid plan will ensure nothing can go wrong, as well as giving you peace of mind that everything is going to be okay. For tips on planning a successful move, you can visit this guide here.
Pack Everything Before You Move
Although it may seem obvious, packing everything before you move is the best way to avoid any holdups on the day. If you find most of the stuff you need to move is large, bulky items like machinery and desks, make sure they’re all in one room ready to go on the day.
Whilst this may take some time out of the work week, it’s the best possible way to get everything transported over one day.
Consider Moving Over The Weekend
If you think the move is going to be disruptive to your employees, consider moving over the weekend. Whilst it may mean having to work a couple of extra hours, it will mean your business suffers as little down time as possible
Ask Employees If They're Willing To Help
Finally, if you’re looking for assistance but don’t want to hire a removal team, you could always ask whether your employees are willing to get involved. Often they’ll be happy to help in return for a day or two in leui.
