Why Engagement Is The Most Important Part Of Digital Marketing

April 6, 2018

Social media is a vital part of your marketing strategy, but it’s one that so many people get wrong. The biggest misconception that people have about social media marketing is that reach is the most important thing. In other words, the more followers you have seeing your posts, the better. Obviously, it’s good to have as many followers as possible, but it isn’t necessarily the most important thing. Engagement with your posts is the number one thing you should be striving for. If people are commenting on posts, or sharing them with their friends, you’re reaching more people but you’re also getting a personal endorsement. People are more likely to buy from your company if their friends can vouch for them. Even if you’ve got plenty of followers, you need to do these things to make sure that people are engaging with your posts
Personalize Customer Experience
Social media marketing is all about the personal touch. People no longer want to deal with a faceless company, they want to feel as though they’re making a human connection. That’s why it’s important that you give your posts a distinct personality that appeals to your target audience when you’re on social media. But before you even get there, you need to personalize the customer experience itself, people will be more likely to engage with you online if you do. Microsoft dynamics 365 is a great piece of business software that will help you to streamline your buying process and, more importantly, personalize it to each and every customer. You’ll be surprised how much difference it makes to the number of people that are engaging with you on social media.
Use Visual Content
When somebody shares something online, they’re sticking their neck out for you. If the content is boring, they might lose followers themselves, which is a big deal for some people. Nobody is going to share a dull Tweet about your latest offers unless there’s something else there that they think has value. People tend to respond to visual content a lot more than they do just text, so always make sure you’re posting great content with good quality photos and videos on anything you put out there. Product demonstrations are particularly good because if people like it, they’ll want to share it with their friends.
Post At The Right Time
When people look at their newsfeed, there is new stuff being posted every second, pushing whatever was posted earlier down the list. If you’re posting when nobody is online, by the time people do log on to check their timeline, your posts will have been drowned out by everybody else. You need to make sure your posts are going out while people are actively looking at their newsfeed. The best times to post are in the morning because people will often check when they wake up; lunchtimes when people are likely to be on a break at work; and evenings, when people have just arrived home. Use a scheduling tool to post at exactly the right time and you’ll see a big jump in the number of people engaging with your posts.
Engagement should be your number one concern when you’re planning a social media marketing campaign so use these methods to make sure people are sharing and commenting on your posts.
