How to Clean Out and Streamline Your Life
October 3, 2019
We only have so much energy and headspace that we can deal with, and so it’s vitally important that we’re doing things the correct way. If we’re not, then we won’t be able to progress, in whatever form that means for us. Life, of course, is not all about efficiency — it’s not about maximising what you can produce, not always anyway. But with so little time to get things done, there’s little value in wasting time and energy on the things that won’t have a positive impact. If you’re feeling weighed down, perhaps it’s time for a clearout. Below, we take a look at a few ways you can simplify and streamline your life in various ways.
Toxic Friends
We all need people in our lives. We’re social creatures, after all, and we’re just not able to be the best version of ourselves if we don’t have friends and family around us. But it’s not like just any old person will do: they have to be supportive, caring, and a positive influence on your life. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where a person, who may have once been a friend, becomes toxic. They put us down, take too much of our energy, or otherwise just aren’t as supportive as they should. Don’t settle for people like these in your life. Cut them out.
In the Home
In order to be at our best, we need to have the essentials in order. They provide the groundwork upon which we can grow and achieve big things. One such area that we need to get right is our property; if it’s not working for you, and providing the comfortable, relaxing space you need to recharge your batteries, then it’s time to change your batteries. If it’s cluttered and dirty, then look at working with a waste disposal company, and get rid of the junk. It’s much easier to think, and relax, when you’re in a minimalist space. You’ll also want to add moments of joy, too — your home shouldn’t be entirely functional. It should make your heart sing.
Healthy Habits
Nobody’s perfect. Sometimes we have habits that we probably understand bring us down a little, things that stop us from being at our best. Could your life be better if these things formed part of your past? Things like smoking, and drinking alcohol, and eating fast food may form part of your life at one stage, but if they’re beginning to weigh you down, then it might be time to say goodbye. Take the energy that you were putting into those unhealthy habits, and transform them into something positive.
Your Limitations
Finally, have a look at cleaning out your thoughts. Many people have brilliant ideas, but not everybody puts them into practice. Why is that? It’s because they’ve put limitations on themselves. They’ve been telling themselves stories about what they can and cannot do for so long that they believe they’re a fundamental part of who they are. Break out of these chains, and you’ll achieve big things.
