New Venue? New Office? It's Time To Reward Yourself!
February 14, 2018
Are you finally getting through? Is that invisible barrier holding you back finally crumbling? Are you really starting to feel like you’re making it happen? Ah, the joys of entrepreneurship, where progress feels much much better than any raise at the end of the year ever could. You’re your own boss, trying to make your own money, and your own ideas are getting put into practice, not somebody else’s ideas which you are putting into practice. You definitely get this sense of pride when you know you have managed to get something off the ground which you yourself have painstakingly planned and developed, which you just don't get elsewhere. That said, if you are finally “making it”, then sooner or later you will probably either need to move into a new venue, or a venue at all if you have not already. What better way to celebrate this, than getting some niceties for your own office? Of course, if getting a nice table means that you won’t be able to pay your staff by the end of the month, then do not go through with it, but if you happen to be more financially stable, then this is a perfect occasion.
Fancy furnishings
We all like a bit of luxury in our lives, maybe not too much because that usually spoils people, but just enough so that you can have a smile on your face every time you walk into the office. Of course, you can’t go too overboard with it, as you will not really be able to live like a millionaire just yet, but a few things certainly won't hurt your work ethic.
For things such as door frames, window frames, or flooring, and other things like that, don’t go and dish out ridiculous figures for mahogany just yet, get some more basic “trade” ones from Kommerling suppliers or something along those lines. What you can afford to do however, is spend a bit on a fancy chair for yourself. Whether you want something different and you want a rocking chair for the office to stop your fidgeting, or maybe a RACER SPORT chair which if it is anything, it is most certainly dashing, that is entirely up to you. Get a nice desk, for a change of pace, maybe a sleek but sturdy, blocky, black desk? Nothing fancy, just something you can grab at ikea for a reasonable price.
Bits and bobs
Accompany that new chair that with maybe a nice desk lamp, and a nifty humidifier from MUJI and you have yourself some pleasant working conditions which will make your time at the office certainly more enjoyable. Perhaps you could start your own little garden on your desk? If you want to get stuck in then buy a nice pot, some soil as well as some plants and you know what to do next. However, if you’re a bit lazy and don't mind paying a little bit extra for an existing pleasant composition of plants and flowers, you can find those too. Your best bet would be to look in gardening centres as they have handmade ones out on display most of the time.
