Organization Hacks For Scatterbrain Entrepreneurs

November 19, 2018

Entrepreneurs have a reputation for being highly organized people. As well as their motivation and drive, this organization helps them become as productive as possible. They know what they need to do and they have no problems getting it done!
However, this stereotype doesn’t ring true for all entrepreneurs. In fact, some of them really struggle with organization, and they might even come across as fairly scatterbrained. Does that sound like you? If so, you might be worried about your future as a full-time entrepreneur and the potential success of your company. Well, the truth is that there really is no need to work. Just because you are one of the least organized people that you know, it isn’t a real reason why you need to give up on your entrepreneurial dream. You just need to start working on your organization skills. Here are a few hacks to help you with that.
Automate Some Processes
First of all, it’s a good idea to look at the various processes in within your company and see if they can be automated. There are so many computer programs and software out there at the minute that I’m sure you will be able to automate a few processes in a number of your departments. You might want to use the Quill Legal Software to streamline some of your business’s legal affairs, and there is also a whole range of different accounting and bookkeeping programs that can take the heat off your financial processes. Not only will this help to keep you well organized, but it can also cut down on the amount of paperwork you need to carry out. And that can only be a good thing!
Sort Out Your Workspace
You should also take a look at your workplace as well. What is the office like on the whole? If it’s a bit cluttered, then it is high time you had a clean out. Don’t forget to focus your attention on your desk as well. It can be all too easy to let the mess and clutter build up on a desk, and you need to deal with this as regularly as you can. After all, a cluttered desk will lead to a cluttered mind! Plus, all that mess will make it difficult for you to find any items that you might need for your work, which can really slow you down.
Start Using To-Do Lists
If you don’t already use to-do lists, it’s a good idea to start doing so now. Lots of people find that writing and working through a to-do list can really help them focus and improves their organization with work. As well as that, it will also give you a sense of achievement every time you come to tick a job off the list. Just make sure that you don’t fill your list with too many items. Ideally, the list should be long enough to keep you busy but short enough so that you can comfortably finish everything on it in one day.
Don’t Delay With Emails
Many of us are guilty of sitting on emails for far longer than we really should. They can then often end up forgotten about, or we continue to put them off for longer and longer. It’s really important that you try not to fall into this habit as it can have a negative effect on your organization and will end up reducing your productivity. Generally speaking, it is always best to reply to emails as soon as they land in your inbox. Then you can deal with them swiftly and don’t have to keep on reminding yourself about them.
Look For Some Virtual Help
If you use a few of the hacks mentioned above and you still find that you end up disorganized with your work, it might be time to look for some extra help. So, why not think about hiring a virtual assistant? A VA will be able to keep your diary up to date as they will book in all meetings and other engagements for you. Some entrepreneurs like to give their VA access to their inbox so they can take care of all emails and let them know about any important ones. VAs will also be able to take care of other simple admin tasks, such as purchasing equipment and tools for the company.
There are plenty of ways you can become a more organized individual. Hopefully, these tips can help you start to improve your skills!
