Planning a Risk-Free Return To Work

June 1, 2020

With many businesses deciding to open their doors once more, government guidelines are being drawn up which detail exactly how to stay safe whilst at work. Reducing risks inside your company is an essential step that you must prioritise, as you can’t contribute to the spread of the virus by putting your staff and customers in a difficult position. It’s up to you as a business owner to implement some preventative measures that can protect the community, and it needn’t be difficult to get started today. So, if you would like to find out more, then read on to uncover some of the best top tips and tricks that you can make the most of now.

Social Distancing

One of the key features you must consider when heading back to work is social distancing, which involves keeping at least 2 metres away from each other at all times. Obviously this can be a tricky step to implement, yet there are a few simple ways that you can get around the issue. First of all, reducing the number of staff you have inside each workspace will allow for a much safer working environment, as there will be little chance for the need to come into contact with another person. Utilising something like social distancing stickers that can act as a visual guide for your employees will be extremely helpful!

Protective Equipment

It’s a good idea for both you and your staff to wear protective equipment whilst at work as this can reduce the spread of covid-19. From disposable face masks that cover your mouth and nose to plastic gloves and shoe coverings – there are just so many different forms of equipment that you can make the most of to help stay safe whilst on the job. You may also wish to request that customers who enter your premises also follow the same guidelines and wear a facial mask as a bare minimum.

Deep Cleaning

It’s vital that you can take part in regularly deep cleaning to rid your workspace of any grime or bacteria, as it’s your responsibility as a business owner to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Always wear sufficient protective equipment when performing any cleaning activities, and use quality bleach and other similar products to kill the virus. You may wish to take it a step further and leave cleaning supplies for your staff to use themselves, such as antibacterial wipes that can easily clean a surface or keyboard. The more you are able to clean, the smaller the risk of illness will be.

Planning a risk free return to work can be far more simple than you may think when you are able to make the most of the top tips and tricks detailed above! Always abide by social distancing guidelines by keeping at least 2 metres apart, ensure both you and your staff members utilise protective equipment and take part in as much deep cleaning as possible to stop the spread of the virus.
