Rose Tinted Glasses Starting To Crack? It's Time To Believe In Your Brand Again!

May 22, 2018

We all start out with such good intentions and grand designs in those first steps of our entrepreneurial journey. We’ve put hours and hours of effort into building our business plan, immersed ourselves in market research and looked at our brand from so many different angles we were saying our mission statements in our sleep. But something happened along the way. Over time, as much as we tried to keep our distance and focus on the more strategic and managerial sides of our business, we got ourselves more and more roped into the operational aspects. Suddenly, we were treading water, living from one day to the next just trying to get by. Our enthusiasm began to wan and we found ourselves wondering if quitting the day job was such a great idea after all.
When the rose tinted glasses of entrepreneurship start to crack and the cold light of day casts your business in a less than flattering light, it’s time to take steps to make you believe in your brand again…
Invest in boosting your business
Are your online conversion rates plummeting? Is your physical presence getting less and less footfall. Are you too embroiled in the day to day running of your business to see where the stats are headed? Now may not be the time to panic just yet, but it’s certainly not conducive to helping you feel good about your brand again. Investing in the help of an SEO agency can give your business a real shot in the arm. They’ll be able to help you refine your branding to increase your market appeal, give online engagement a boost with a laser targeted PPC campaign and help you tweak your digital content to give your SEO an organic boost to help create a sustained level of engagement with leads who will become tomorrow’s customers.
Is it time to enforce standards amongst your staff?
Inevitably, if your energy levels start to dip, your employees’ will begin to follow suit. Your employees look to you for leadership and if you come into work tired, dispirited and lacking enthusiasm, it’s naive and unfair to expect this not to rub off on them. As such your standards may begin to slip and this can toxify your brand.
Sometimes, taking the time out to enforce standards, tighten up training and ensure that all of your employees have a path of continuous professional development can give your whole business a burst of energy and steer the ship back in the right direction.
Engage with your clientele
Your employees aren’t the only ones who can help to energise and reinvigorate both you and your business. Knowing that your customers have faith in your brand and your mission statement can really help boost your own enthusiasm and energy which is why it’s important to look in on your business’ social media presence every once in a while, even if you have a member of staff to manage it. Check out the comments on your social media posts and blog posts as these offer a wealth of insight into the thoughts and opinions of your target market.
Keep the suggestions box open
As great as you are, sometimes the best ideas for your business are the ones you’d never have thought of. Hence, it’s vital that you maintain open lines of communication with your employees. Make sure that they have a forum to suggest ideas at all times whether it’s a simple suggestion box or the AOB section of your weekly strategy meetings.
