Simple Ways To ASpruce Up The Office
August 7, 2019
Offices are never exciting places. When you first move into an office space it will often be drab and dull and this can have a huge impact on everyone’s morale in the office each day. Imagine going to work and staring at white walls all day every day, it will not inspire you and a lot of the time it sucks the creative air out of a space.
This is why today we want to talk about the office and the ways that you can create an inspiring space for yourself and your employees this year. Whether you call in a commercial electrician to energise the space, spruce up the bathroom tiles or paint the walls; here are just some of the DIYs you can try this weekend
Add some nature
In the Concrete jungle, there isn’t going to be a lot of life and nature to enjoy. This is why it is important for you to bring some of nature into the space for everyone to enjoy this year. The reason why this can be a great choice is that it will add some colour to the office and can also relieve stress and tension. Plants bring more oxygen into your working and living spaces and this can actually reduce stress by a large amount for people in work. It can be exactly what you need to make the office feel like a less stiff environment.
Hang hardware on the walls
If you have lots of items on your desk such as stationery, mugs, paperwork trays, and other items… they can take up your desk space and they can often make you feel like you are working in a cramped and disordered way which doesn’t garner productivity. A great idea would be to invest in some wall hanging hooks which you can use to hang those niggling items up on the wall. It will free up your desk and means you have more room to stretch and come up with ideas.
Add storage
If you have a decent-sized office to work with you might not need to carry out the wall hanging exercise, and here you can instead add some extra storage. As an office manager, you can either allow people to have drawers at their desks or you can create a storage area in the office with lockers for their personal belongings. This is totally up to you and what you feel will work in your space.
Add some fun
Fun is something which is often missing in the office and it is something which should be brought into the space. If you want the office to look and feel more creative you can send out an email and tell your employees to each choose a piece of art they want to hang on the walls. It could be a photograph, a painting, a movie poster, a funny quote or anything else; and it will brighten up the walls as well as give everyone something to talk about. Plus, when looking away from your screen during the day it will be much more fun to look at artwork than a blank wall.
