Tips For Creating A Consistent Marketing Campaign

November 1, 2019

Behind every successful business is a well thought out and targeted marketing campaign. If people don't know about you, chances are, your company won't last very long. so it makes sense that no matter where you are on your business journey; day one or day 1,001. Cultivating a strong, consistent and well-developed marketing campaign is something that should be a top priority and worthy of a chunk of your budget.

There is no denying that the internet has changed the face of marketing for business in an explosive way. Enabling businesses to reach more people quicker and easier is something that could only be a good thing when it comes to building your business. Add the rise of social media to the mix and it is safe to say that your marketing campaign has more options and channels to use than ever before.

But that doesn't mean you should forget about your traditional tried and tested methods. Not at all. In fact, the best marketing campaigns incorporate both traditional methods of marketing as well as an impactful online campaign too.

You know you need a marketing campaign, but do you know what type of campaign is best for you and your business?

Research is Essential!

  • Market Research –  This is essential. You need to know the demand in your sector, how the market is performing and the type of profits you can expect. This can give you an idea of how successful a marketing campaign will be before you put a plan into action.
  • Target Market – Who, what and where is your target market and are they willing to pay for what you are offering? Once you know this, you can design a marketing plan to attract your target market to you.
  • Find your USP (Unique Selling Point) – Do you offer something different to others in your sector? Make this a part of your marketing strategy to let people know you are slotting into a gap in the market ot fulfil their needs.

What is Your Competition Doing?

Staying in the loop as far as what your competition is doing is a great place to start your marketing campaign. Check out their marketing campaign to see what is and isn't working for them. Take a look at their advertisements, online activity and social media engagement and use this to build the foundation of your social media campaign.

Look for a gap in what they do so you can step in and fill it to entice customers in your direction by filling a need and slotting yourself into the market. Take the opportunities to constantly reassess what you and others are doing and always be open to feedback whilst being ready to adapt to new changes to help your business and your marketing campaign grow as they should.

Old School Marketing.

Just because something has been done by other time and time again, it doesn't mean it out of date or overexposed. in fact, the opposite could be true. It is still available because it works.

Many companies specialize in a wide range of promotional items that can be beneficial in your marketing campaign or even for staff members to utilise when working in the office or networking with potential clients. Finding the right promotional items for your marketing campaign can be a bit hit and miss. and whilst thinking outside of the box can give you an edge over competitors, keeping things low key and consistent to tie in with your company values can also give out a strong message to customers.

  • Business Cards –  And staple for any marketing campaign. Business cards are perfect for leaving your details with people for them to contact you at a later date.
  • Flyers – Not as efficient as business cards, leaving flyers in the local community can still bring some customers to you if you target the correct places.
  • Pens – Pens have a way of travelling between people and in some ways are almost ninja-like in their marketing power. Emblazoning pens with your logo can reach more people than you would imagine. Just think, how many times have you lent someone a pen who didn't return it or vice versa!
  • Mugs – everyone needs a mug for their morning tea or coffee. Great for the office or to gift to clients for their own offices or homes. Even better is branding reusable takeout cups. the majority of workers stop at a coffee shop on their way into work or to a meeting so giving them a reusable option to carry with them will potentially increase your reach as it puts your company's logo in front of more people.

Marketing Online.

Marketing your company online requires a full and ongoing strategy. From building an easy to navigate website with all the information your potential customers need. To a good and engaging social media campaign across various channels. You need to make sure your company message is consistent across all platforms you use and easily identifiable as your company. Giving out a clear and consistent message and engaging with all interaction is essential too.

For this reason, it makes sense to consider hiring an outside company or internal staff member to take care of your social media market campaign and the running of your website to keep it fully maintained and working as well as being up to date at all times.

You can also harness the power of search engines by creating a fully optimized website with strong SEO in all content to help you climb to the front page of internet searches.  Again, as with social media, you can hire an SEO specialist to take care of this for you and help your site become visible when people search for keywords relating to your company.

Maybe you want to look at placing Google Ads to feature at the top of searches for your niche. This is a great way to get your online presence in the eye of people who are looking for products or services you provide.

In conclusion.

There is no one and only right way to market your business, the best marketing campaigns utilise all avenues available to them. But make sure you allow a budget for this to happen is essential. as the saying goes, you need to speculate to accumulate and without spending money on marketing your business, you can be losing out when it comes to attracting customers to your company.
