Tips To Help Make Your Office More Presentable
October 7, 2019
Get Regular Carpet Cleans
The carpets are being used on a daily basis around the office, and they’re going to get dirtier than usual, especially with more than just one or two people stepping on it. Drinks and food are more likely to get spilled, and that’s not what you want on your carpet if you have important guests and clients coming into your office space. You should already have some excellent cleaners who are keeping your space clean on the daily, but it’s worth hiring an external company to do your carpets regularly. This can be once a month or on a quarterly basis. Ensure your cleaners are using Steamaster to keep up with the daily demand on your floor.
Incorporate Some Plants
Plants are finding their way indoors nowadays because they promote good health both physically and mentally. They can freshen up an otherwise boring room, and if you want to incorporate a little colour, then there’s an array of plants available. Be sure to keep up with the watering of the plants because there’s nothing worse than having plants that are dead. You may as well not have plants at all if they’re going to be left unattended. There are plenty of indoor plants that you can get that are virtually indestructible and therefore don’t require much effort on your part.
Staff Take Charge Of Their Workspace
Staff should be taking ownership of their workspace. As far as you’re concerned, the cleaners will do their job throughout the building but employees need to look after their own desk space. Encourage those who may be leaving their space like a messy teenage bedroom to clean up after themselves. You may want to set it as a rule that managers go around their department every month to check up on workspace and to make sure that it’s being kept clean.
Declutter All Communal Areas
Talking of mess, the communal areas in your office should be kept pristine. You want to help promote a clean and healthy working environment. This is difficult when you have a lot of staff members using the same kitchens or breakout spaces. Declutter these communal areas and keep them minimalistic in their layout. That way, your staff can enjoy using these spaces more without having it be a tripping hazard or covered in a mess left by other staff members. Work with your operations team to remove all the junk in your office, especially anything that’s been left in out in these communal areas to just take up space.
Making your office more presentable is only going to reflect more positively on your company, and it’s reputation. Do what you can to help with the overall look and feel of the office and be sure your staff does too.
